5 Reasons Why You Should Wait Until You Are Married To Have Children.

Children are nature’s joy, yet when a child enters your life, you are met with foreseen and unforeseen challenges, however you must nourish, teach and govern the child as he/she develops. While today children are born and cared for in many different ways, it goes without saying that children that grows up in two parent homes have better chances of succeeding in life. More than one income families are most likely to live in suburban areas where their children go to schools with excellence ratings. Though I came from a single parent home myself and do not disregard the hard working single mothers or fathers that create an average or extraordinary life for their children, I do recognize the importance of getting married than having children. 1.       Children are expensive: Babies are cute and cuddly and they say and do the darnest things but babies cost money. Diapers, formula (if you are not breast feeding), clothes, accessories, cribs and such, keeping u...

Teenage Pregnancy

Adolescence is a pivotal time in child development. The marks of puberty are evident, and adolescent girls begin to experience an exciting yet terrifying part of their lives. Much development is happening, “on average puberty begins at about 10 years old for girls and 12 years old for boys,” (Mossler, R.A 2011). Adolescent girls develop breast, begin to grow pubic hair, and experience vaginal discharge which prepares them for their first menstruation. They also begin to mature sexually. When adolescent girls begin to have monthly menstruations, they should be informed on what is going on with their bodies, and educated on the risks on acting on such sexual behavior that they may encounter daily. One huge risk of acting on sexual behaviors that adolescent girls are bombarded with daily is pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy affects many which make it even more pertinent to strive to prevent teen pregnancy. “In 2011 a total of 329,797 babies were born to women age 15-19, for a live birth ra...

Who am I ?

Going through my daily conversations with individuals i have come across the fact that I as an African American does not know anything about my past. Not only I but my peers and other African American around me. It actually kind of hurt that I can not tell you who I am. Since My forefathers and ancestors was brought here on slave ships stripped of their names cultures and was forced to leave everything they knew behind I am left IGNORANT. Ignorant of what my name could have been if I my ancestors were not stolen from their country. Ignorant of values and morals that could have been instilled into me. I listen to Others say Oh I have a Scotland or English or Italian or German etc background and I can not name any of that. I do not even know my own grandfathers or other family members let alone know who I am How could I be so lost. I have let these feelings hide for so long it kind of feels great to get it out. Although, many can say who they are and where they came from, I am proud o...

Random rant...........

As a child I remember wanting to be a teacher when I grew up. It was my third grade teacher Mrs. Rice who inspired me. She was small in stature, and always wore a smile. Her body size is what intrigued me the most. She was so tiny, however she could handle us unruly children. It was that primarily why I became interested in teaching. I believed that since I was tiny liker her, I could be a good teacher and handle my students as well as she did. As I aged my interest in teaching faded, and I found my gift. I was blessed in the 6th grade to come have Mrs. Weave as my 6th grade teacher. Though at first I didn't realize the impact she would have on my life, I do now. She instructed the class to write three poems after a class lessons. I wrote "What A Beautiful Day", "Friends", and "At Night". What a beautiful day,                                               ...

Are you strong? Military strong?

Patriotism is the love for one's country. A person who shows patriotism can be willing to die or sacrifice themselves for their country. How does one become patriotic? You are not born with patriotism. You lack knowledge at birth to even process what patriotism is. Does it grow on you or apart of you as you age and have a better understanding of what patriotism mean. One of the most prevalent was to show patriotism is to join the military. Joining the military means that you will live and die for your country, however I do not believe everyone that joins the military has patriotism. I believe that through life experiences you form opinions that from your point -of-view become facts, and you make decisions based on that.  I realized there are several reasons that people enter the military.  Got drafted(either wanted to go or forced to go) Family legacy(parents was/currently are in the military) Benefits(pay for school, good insurance) Pressured by others Final opt...

Life is what you make it. You can't cry over spilled milk. What is done is done. The most important thing of any situation is that you learn from it. One of the hardest thing is figuring our what you are suppose to learn from a situation. Many times I have gone through different situations and have sat back and asked, why? After I have deliberated on the situation, prayed over, and even talked it over with different individuals I have still come up short on finding out why? Why do you go through what you go through? Is it to make you a stronger person. Is it to learn about the different types of people in life to make you a well-rounded individual? Maybe it's a combination between the two.

Speak it into favor!

I feel like I have been deserting my blog. I haven't been on here in months. I am going to get back to posting a little bit more frequently. I have been reading a lot of articles. I want to improve my writing, although I think I am an excellent writer, everyone needs improvement. Eh, I just want to be the best that I can be at my craft. I have noticed that a common statement in a lot of the articles or blogs that I read, is that you need to write everyday, if you want to be a good writer. So, that is one of the things that I am going to begin doing. I am going to try to post in my blog at least once a week. Lord please help with this.
